earthlings’ New Look

March 3, 2007 directrix Leave a comment

Sometime last year, I started renovating earthlings, the online community of my fourth year class and our friends. The renovation is taking a long time (it isn’t even finished now) because University is taking up most of my time, and I have limited Internet access on-campus.

The new layout is designed to be Web-semantic and standards-compliant. Layout is separated from structure (XHTML+CSS), and the current layout is made to look clean and slick.

Do you like the new layout? Do you have any suggestions or comments? Please do not hesitate to tell me by commenting on this post. Thank you.

Somebody took over.

Somebody took over development of one of my Web site projects, the Batangas State University Integrated School Web site. That’s nice, because I’m not affiliated with the university anymore, and I simply don’t have the time to gather information for the Web site myself. However, I do feel bad because the new webmaster is messing up my original source code. What I mean by messing up, is that he/she is not following the standards I use when I coded the site. She reintroduced elements not defined in the XHTML 1.1 Strict specification, like FONT, B, I. The new webmaster also does not use the appropriate elements for outlines, headings and tabulations.

Well, whoever the new webmaster is, good luck (no sarcasm intended).

Finally, that is one project off my sleeve. That means fewer worries for me. (I’m not getting paid to do that anyway. J)
