FA 30 Field Trip: Leaving tonight!

My Fine Arts class will be leaving tonight for the field trip. I’ll try to update and post pictures from the trip when I get back.

Beethoven’s 8th Symphony

Here’s a Beethoven symphony you might never have heard before.

Sometimes called the “Little Symphony,” this is the David between the two goliaths that are the seventh and ninth symphonies. Contrary to the two the styles used in the seventh and ninth, which is obviously Romantic, this one is very Classical in approach (and the Minuet makes a comeback!)

FA 30 field trip or Math 54 midterm?

I’m under a slight dilemma right now. Somebody (I’m assuming it’s my professor) texted me that the field trip for my Fine Arts 30 class will be on August 10 and will end on August 13. The problem is that my midterm examination in Math 54 is scheduled on August 11. I really want to join the field trip (and merely joining the field trip will exempt me from the FA 30 final exam), but with the Math midterm intervening with that, what should I do? Would it be possible to schedule an advance or late exam (even if it’s departmental)? Or do I have no choice but to not go on the trip? Help me. Please.

UPDATE: The trip is moved to two weeks from now! Yay!

We’ve finally made the switch from Globelines Broadband to PLDT myDSL after our two-year contract with Globe expired two weeks ago. And so far, myDSL is performing very well. Well, better than Globe’s service anyway.

No more intermittent connections! I hope this keeps up.

Classes suspended on August 3

Got the tip from Ma’am Jaki: According to a GMANews.tv article, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo declared today that August 3 is a “special, no-class holiday for college and high school students.”

“The announcement was made in Malacanang which said that the holiday was meant to ensure that students of voting age are registered for the upcoming Sangguniang Kabataan election on October 9,” according to GMA.
